A reservation is compulsory to travel with a bike.
Cost: CHF 2.– per reservation.
The reservation must be made at the same time as you buy your ticket, via the SBB website or app.

Since 1 April 2026, reservations have been compulsory for bikes in order to guarantee a space on the bike racks. It is quick, simple and ensures a stress-free journey.
What you need to know:
- The reservation covers your entire journey.
- It guarantees your space on board.
- When demand is high, reserved spaces take priority.
Without a reservation
Boarding remains possible only if space is available.
Passengers with a reservation have priority.
Good to know
For a smooth journey:
- Book in advance, especially during the summer season.
- Check availability for special equipment (bikes, groups, etc.).
- Arrive a few minutes early to make boarding easier.
