Tickets and passes

Passengers must be able to show a valid ticket throughout their journey.

Among the wide range of public transport tickets, you will find clear instructions here for buying yours — at the machines at stops, at a sales point, from a driver, or as an e-ticket. Whichever method you choose, the process is quick and simple, so you can travel on the TMR network with peace of mind.

How does an e-ticket work?

An e-ticket is an electronic ticket you can buy online or through a mobile app. Once purchased, it is stored on your device and does not need printing. Simply show it from your smartphone when checked. Note that the e-ticket must be valid before you board.

E-tickets and travel authorisations are personal. They are valid only together with official photo ID or a SwissPass, so make sure you can prove your identity.

If you buy your e-ticket through the electronic timetable, it is generally valid only from the corresponding scheduled departure time.
